SPECTOR® Owners Club

Looking forward to seeing it completed!

A STYLE you can adjust string spacing side to side. You have 1mm of adjustment to either side. Pretty great bridge.

The Spector bridges are a bit more now...

Me too brother!

Thanks for the info... that's money saved that I desperately do not need to spend right now.

I figured they were more these days, but, the 2015 price list for US parts is all I could find since their links are broken on the Spector site. I remember Taylor mentioning they're working on updates so hopefully things will be fixed soon.

I always suggest reaching put to a "dealer" for the most current pricing.

I really like that bass Jack, I was looking at it too just before you snagged it. Great looking Forte:thumbsup:

Thanks, Rod. And, you've got some outstanding looking Forte basses, yourself, especially the ultra violet. I had seen that you were looking to get that bass, but it looked like the guy may have had some thoughts about shipping to Canada. I didn't really expect it to last as long as it did at that price. Another TB'er PM'd me, and said that he was thinking of getting it, but was a little hesitant because of the ding on the back on the neck. After I had posted that I had fixed the ding is when he let me know that if I ever wanted to sell it he would be interested.

Another Forte for FF...

I just got putting this one back together after three weekends of refinishing. I had previously finished the bass with a walnut stain, boiled linseed oil and tru-oil. However, with the heat and humidity in the New Orleans area, the tru-oil got tacky, and my hands didn't slide very well on the back on the neck.

This time I finished it with walnut stain and Deft Clear Satin Wood Finish Spray Paint. I'm well pleased with how it came out, and the satin paint was easy to work with.

I've put together a montage of the refinishes since the time I got it, which had been refinished with orange stain by the previous owner. My previous refinish was done with boiled linseed oil and tru-oil, but the tru-oil doesn't hold up too well with the hot, humid climate. Left to right, top to bottom, this is the transformation of this bass...

Also, it started off with Dimarzio Model J pickups with a Darkglass Tone Capsule, then Lindy Fralin pickups with a Darkglass Tone Capsule and now EMG vintage pickups with an SNCpre HAZ clone...all great sounding combinations of pickups and preamps.
