the fact a Spector with a haz wasn't in the original test was the only subjective "draw back" of what was otherwise a VERY well put together comparison/game/survey, seeing as the haz pre is one of the most definitive aspects of what some would consider Spector sound, as its one of the few things that sets a Spector apart from other EMG equipped basses, aside from the Tone Pump I suppose. I think it wouldn't go without appreciation if you did do that comparison you just mentioned. And congrats on the acquisition of a US as well!

Agreed! Only reason it wasn't included was simply because I didn't have one lol. Very excited to finally get my hands on one!!

On my spector rebop 4 I use EXLs and I find they sound great from the beginning but I have to change them more regularly.

I think we all hear things differently. D'addario to me is irritatingly bright, and I've generically disliked them on everything I've tried them on except one guitar that sounds perfect with them. That same guitar sounds kinda muddy if I put EBs on it and works better with the brighter/thinner sound of EXLs.

EB is kinda my generic standard. I like them for the mids, but I also think it's because I've been using them for so long my ear is just attuned to the sound of them.

That said, I find that since switching to an active bass I'm not quite as picky about strings. EQ gives me more freedom to adjust.

It plays so nice, I really wish they would come from the factory this way.

It was still expensive but that would be nice to get a timee machine and go back to get some with a bunch of cash. :D
Even that I bought my black Kramer era USA NS-2 for $1200 with ohsc this summer. :speechless:

I love AIC and Mike Starr but, for a guy who was so great at writing basslines and playing bass, he seems like a moron when it comes to gear!

I cant say for sure but I think i've seen a few Korg Spectors, especially those spec'd by MusicLoft in North Carolina with wooden truss cover and electronics covers. but icould be confusing them with certain Warwick builds. I dont think any Pre-Korg USA models would have done that honestly.

Sure, if someone can provide detailed dimensions or send me a sample (that I can return) I can make them easily. I've done truss, control covers and pick guards plain or etched with a name. PM me for details.
