Spector bass ID please

Hi,
So I just got this FREE bass from a coworker and it's really nice. How lucky am I?

Info- is over 12 years old. Only identifying marks seem to be 4 numbers stamped into the back of the headstock that are filled with paint and almost impossible to see. I used many methods to try and identify the numbers. They look like 1080 or 1086.

I'm thinking it's a high end Euro model?

Any tips about this bass would be appreciated!

Looks like it's an 85 Euro 4, late Brooklyn era. I was very excited about getting it, but tried to not get too excited. I'm going through it now and am very excited. It plays really nice for not being used for 12 years!

Not a "Euro" if it was made in NY (and Euros came much later).

So it looks like it's definitely pre 1990. I wish I could get the model correct though.

I've already started working on it a little, just repainted the pickup screws and gave the truss rod a little turn.

Well I believe LimaGuy nailed it for ya....He is the Spector Guru for sure. What you have is pretty much the Holy Grail of Spectors from the mid 80's...and its not a Euro, those didn't exist back then as others have mentioned, it is a USA made NS-2

The model of your bass is simply a Spector NS-2. It's from the Brooklyn shop where early Spectors were built. The business was acquired by Kramer about 1986, but hardly anything changed other than the address. I have Brooklyn #1082, probably a couple numbers from yours.

Two Brooklyn era NS-2 basses, one Kramer NS-2, and a Woodstock built NS-JH5. At one time I was up to nine Spectors.
