Spector Euro 5 CST

If only they had someone who could demo these and make them sound good...

I saw a shop demo of one (I'll see if I can find the YT video) that I thought was so beautiful, if I could have scrounged the money, I might have bought it. Fortunately, it was sold before I could even ponder buying it for real.

Oh, here 'tis.

Sigh. Wish so bad they’d make a p bass or stingray shaped body and ergonomics with this pickup/pre amp set up. Without hesitation if I were in the market for a bass, that’d be it.
Same here.

I think Spectors look and sound amazing, but the ergonomics are very unnatural for me.

I would actually love to put the electronics in a Fender precision with PJ routing.

I know the player really helps here in this demo but the bass sounds fantastic. That's a great combination of pickups and pre-amp. Regarding the ergonomics, I know they work for some and not for others. Having owned a similar shaped bass, I really liked the body contouring and size (very comfortable) but the extra reach in first position when played with a strap is what gets most people. It's not as noticeable at first but over time you really notice it. Especially when playing long gigs. I eventually found some work arounds but took some trial and error. That being said, I'd still give this model a go if I was in the market for one.

Amongst my other Spectors I have this Coda 5 Pro with EMG J5s and an LHZ Haz clone preamp (with stacked knobs so i could install EMG's passive tone control). It kills!

Great job playing so well in the video

I really wanted one of these. I've wanted a P/J 5'er Euro for years.
Unfortunately it looks like they only come in an Ash body.
If it were alder, maple, or mahogany I'd have one.
Do better, Spector 🙃
