Spector Euro quality standard

The Legacy is brand new and it is meant to emulate the HAZ that can be ordered with the US basses. Looking forward to trying that one.
No matter what preamp you have it whether you have a Legend or a Euro, if you want the OG tone the LHZ Haz clone is the way to go asking with EMGs. It's built by a TBer who started it as a project and it took off. I have AB'd it with a real Haz in the same bass and it's indistinguishable. He's also got an optional mid control for it. Take a look over at the Spector owners group and see what people are saying about it.

I have a spector euro lt. They're REALLY great. I wasn't even gonna buy it. I looked at my other friend who is a musician, when we were late night at a bar and said "I'm gonna low bid this guy and if he says yes I'm getting a Spector". And this is one of the few times when I woke up with a hang over I didn't regret my decision.
edit: Mine came with old school EMG's and a SNC Hazlab Clone. If you want that "Spector tone" get EMGS (not the X) and the LHZ Hazlab clone.

I have the concentric version - the BTC... and I've used BTS setups before. I think they're great. They are a very broad EQ - very useful, and they give you a pair of DIP switches to fiddle with the treble and upper midrange if you want to adjust to taste.
Yes, I believe it's the same company, aka NBE.
They make violins and other stringed instruments as well.
I love everything you stated. But some members that are quite long in the tooth would say that the X series are much more similar to the original EMG pickups loaded into the Golden era of Spectors.
For me, I love both styles. X and original recipe.
I have a '96 Euro that I bought in 2009 and the quality is first rate. I put an Aggy OBP-3 in it and it absolutely roars.
Spector Euro basses are superb. Way above any USA Fender etc. ... as far as build quality and design. Worth every penny. They are inherently more expensive to produce as a neck through and the type of finish etc. I have both USA and Euro Spectors.
I like my USA Spector basses better than the Euros but it really is well into the point of diminishing returns. Both are amazing playing, sounding, and made basses.
Not to say there is anything wrong with Fender but they hit a lower price point.

My Spector Euro 4LT would be the bass I’d keep if forced to only own one bass and I was required to sell my Alembics.
Completely agree with VeryTallBassist on the comments above and the LHZ upgrade. I have the three band in this euro RST and it sounds on par with my two US NS5 – XL’s with the HAZ pre. Build quality is excellent on the euros.

I'll through in my 2 cents as I have experience with both Euro basses( I have 3 ) and the country( Czech descent and I speak Czech and have been there many times). The quality of the basses themselves is outstanding. My guitar player was messing around with one my Euros one day a said it was literally the nicest instrument he had ever played. Everyone felt amazing. I agree, they are also the basses I have ever played.
They are made in Horovice, CZ at NBE factory. I have emailed back and forth with the shop manager a few times. Czechs have a long history of quality manufacturing, particularly music instruments. They take great pride in their work.

Hi so you kept the Aguilar humbuckers and switched to the TB clone Haz? Those RSTs are so light and beautiful

You will see that both factories use process that Stuart Spector helped develop. As the owner of multiple USAs and Multiple Euros, I would say they are very, very similar in quality.

Questioning the quality of the Czech-built Spectors is a non-starter, they are outstanding. The CR has a long history of excellent lutherie, and as others have pointed out, the Euro Steinberger products are built in the same facility. You may prefer different pickups or preamps, but the basses are top shelf.
