Just came across this.
Spector Launches Line of Bass Strings
It's interesting the way they're up front about their strings being made by La Bella.
As far as i can see, the Spector site does not even state the gauges of all the strings in a set, for these new string sets, disappointing.
I wonder if they are just gauges LaBella would use.
At least, that is my first guess.
Yes my Euro 4 LX bought in October was strung with XL's. Which are still going strong!Pretty cool news. I'll be buying a Euro 6LX in the next few months. I intend to string it with GHS Pressurewounds or Bass Boomers.
I believe the Euro Series basses come strung with D'Addario XLs. I haven't tried a lot of LaBella's strings, but the sets that I've tried were really good. It wouldn't break my heart at all if a set of these Spector LaBellas are on my new Euro when I finally get it.
Reading this part of the press release - Spector and La Bella have developed a custom formula that achieves a balance between longevity, feel, and the impressive attack and sustain that Spector is known for - leads me to believe that no, they're not stock gauges from LaBella's usual catalog.
