Spector vs Ibanez

At the same time though, they really ought to get over it. I mean, if ever Fender owner complained when someone talked about a jazz copy we'd never get anything done! :p

What are you getting at? Are you saying that Sadowskys are as good as Fenders, even though they are just a knock off?? :smug:

...and now we are officially off the thread topic.

Attempting to get back on track:

The big difference between the two basses in question that you need to be aware of and try for yourself is the neck. The Spector and Ibanez necks are in my experience just totally different animals. I think they are both very fast, but the Ibanez in particular tends to be polarizing.

I dunno about that.

Ibanez do cater for beginners but with guys like Satch and Vai on their players list, they are a million miles away from cookie cutter. At least terms of the visibility/profile of their endorsees, Ibanez trounce Spector.

As for Ibanez, I do have a lot of love for them. My brother has two!

My 3 RGs support you.

Having said that, I think Spector basses are just as good.

(ignore the little Laney practise amp, I'm worried that my bigger amp will damage the floor of my room)

Both so great! To be honest I'd be hard pressed to choose between my BTB and a Spector Legend. Amazing basses for the price.

To be honest I like the legends better then the Euro's I also rather play my BTB then a Euro spector. The one I tryed ironically enough was the one Chris2112 has, it felt OK but I hated the sound.

Different strokes for different folks I guess :)

In your case though I agree get the Spector!!

>.> get them both.

I have a Spector NS-4 and a Ibanez ATK Koa top bass.

Both are sick, and have great tones to them.

If you had to choose between one or the other, I would try to steer you towards Spector personally, only because that's the first of the two basses I got, and I am happy with what I've done so far.

I am my own success story =)

Thanks for all the info here guys it's just what I wanted to know asked a question yesterday on the forum

I am thinking of buying a Spector Legend 4 bass or a Ibanez Srx500. 4 string.
As i live about 500 miles from either store that sells then here in Wales Uk. I will have to buy on the net.
As anyone tried these basses and which would you prefer.
I want to play Blues, Rock, Americana, soul and the occasional slow track.

Would appreciate some help please.

Any help from you guys would be appreciated as I have a chance to buy a New Spector Legend in black cherry from Scotland at a very good price.
