Double Bass Spike for Robpin?

Anybody else use a Robpin past the lifespan of the rubber endpin stopper?

I purchased the Super Endpin Ball from Gollihur since the rubber end on my Robpin has worn to the point of sliding across most flooring types, but curious to hear if there is a spike attachment available that doesn't cost the moon. The simplest solution is a super cheap 10mm Endpin with a spike built in that I can use, but "super cheap" and "endpin" does not seem to be a common combination... Lol

Also, for anyone who has a Robpin, Laborie, chromatic, etc endpin, have you had better luck with a rubber stopper or a spike on wood, linoleum, or indoor/outdoor carpet? If the point is moot for a spike, then I'll totally just try different stoppers until I find something that works.

You just need to ask. You must have the earliest version. I started with a crutch tip which turned out to have durability issues, and then switched to something I get from a medical supplier which it pretty indestructible. I am now going to offer a rubber ball from SaddleRider.com adapted to press fit onto my steel tubes rather than threading on.

As to the point, I now offer one which fits into the tube. Just contact me. It won't be expensive:D

I bought a USA endpin from Shanks Strings, PA many years ago. It is great, a solid, stable thumb-screw model with screw-on tips. I use a hard rubber ball.
Caveats? It is quite heavy and quite long. I've been thinking of cutting it shorter. It's about two feat long and I doubt I'll grow much more in my dotage. I also doubt I'll ever get around to shortening it.
One funny thing recently happened . I noticed that I was playing the Low F on the E-sting flat. Just per chance , I discovered that the rubber ball end- pin, through contact with the rug in my music room, had become loose lenthing it's height by about an inch. I guess I give a counter clockwise hill billy twirl to the bass as I move it on and off the bass stand. I don't have to adjust the pin so I hadn't noticed.
I "fixed" it with a few dabs of my wife's fingernail polish on the threads.
