sporadic pickup problems

ok so: sx bass, its awesome, but the neck pickup wasnt working the first time i played it, played again several hours later, it was working, and now about a week or so later, it stopped working.

should i send it back, or do you think it might just take time?
ive been thinking of swapping out the pickup anyways, but id like some advice/input. thanks

I'd check the wiring. It might also be where the wire connects to the pickup. Shouldn't be hard to fix, and less hassle than to return the bass.

They are decent basses, and the stock pickups aren't awful, but they aren't made very well, at least from the pickups I've taken out of SX instruments.

So worst comes to worst, new pickups will make quite an improvement.

yeah like i just took a shower and went to see if it worked and shazam. it works.
