Most people outside of Australia (and also most of those that live here) think that it's always hot and dry everywhere. Where I live it can be a little different to the rest of the country. Our town is the main feeder to the two NSW ski resorts 30 mins drive away and we're currently experiencing a very good storm. So far we've gotten 70cm up in the resorts in the last 24 hours with much more to come. It doesn't snow much here in town but below is what we woke up to today.
Nice view. At least your moving towards warmer weather. We're on the downhill side of Summer here in the Northern lands.
Is it an anomaly for snow where you're at, and you're nearing the end of winter ... right? I'd love to see your wonderful country, but I'm afraid it will never happen.
Wow. I've played at the resort there, and up at Thredbo, it's beautiful. It's hot up here in Coffs, it going to be a long hot summer here.
Yeah..... as I said, we don't get much here in town. Compared to other countries we don't get much up the mountain either. That 70cm in a day is HUGE here.... I've skied Alaska, Canada, Japan, China and New Zealand. In Big White in Canada a 70cm dump is pretty normal, and in Japan it happens regularly.
It happens a few times a year here in town and doesn't stick around for long. A good season in the resorts 30 minutes away is about a 2m base.
Here's a shot I just got from a mate who's a ski patroller up the mountain....... Yeah, we've had a bit of snow.
My daughter's just sent photos of Sydney's Botanic Gardens - It looks like a lovely day. She's just started a three-week holiday there right now, moving on to Brisbane and Cairns. I'm pretty sure she did NOT pack even a woolly hat!
