Squier 60's Vibe P-Bass

I finally got a chance to try the '60s CV P bass a couple weeks ago, and was extremely impressed--just as I have been with the '50s CV and the '60s J bass.. All seem to deliver great bang for the buck, I expect to get one of the P basses one of these days.
The neck on the '60s P is not only flatter, it's clearly narrower side-to-side than a Fender AVS. I prefer the AVS, but this neck wouldn't be a problem for me at all.

Cant beat the vibe P-bass. Looks and sounds awesome. Walked in a local store just looking and walked out with vibe P-bass. Already had a P but couldnt resist the look, feel, sound, and price of the vibe. My fender Jazz isnt getting much love.
Only change I will make is putting Chrome flats. Cant beat the P with flats it is very addicting.

when you guys say DR you mean low riders? I am looking for rounds for my p. I have TI's on my Jazz and Chromes on my ATK. The P has Roto 66's on it and it sounds great. Just needs more beef.
Those are sweet basses. I know a guy who works at GC (good player) he had a few decent players in a week ago trying out several MIAs thru a few amps. He took down the 60's vibe and told one of them to try it. He said they kinda laughed..until they played it. They said it sounded as good as some of the MIA jazzes.
I think the pups are good also but a cool swap would be Fender's 62 RI pups...great old school tone.

I have that bass. If you want the classic P-bass tone throw on some flats or pure nickel rounds. This basically applies for any P-bass though 
I dropped some 62 fender re-issue's in mine and strung em up with some Fender flats...pure bliss
I've got one of these and I have to agree, some awesome, smooth feel neck its got on there. I also have to agree with the threadstarter regarding the pickups. I know many love the stock pickups but I just think it lacks that certain warmness and thickness. Am going to swap the stocks with the SD Antiquity next week. Stoked!

That's not a mistake. It was a in store only price. They weren't marked that way, but the price only came up when they looked in the computer.
Man I love those Daphne Blue, Seafoam Green, or Shell Pink color schemes. I think my next bass will have one of those colors.
The CV 60's P is a great instrument...But to the OP, do you need to change the PUPs?
I found them to be good. The only thing I changed was the bridge(Fender vintage) and put Fender Flats on mine.
BUT, if you feel you need to change the PUPs, I would recommend either: Fender 62's, SD SPB 1, or SD Antiquity's.
