Squier Affinity Jazz Bass V

So I played a Squier Affinity Jazz Bass V at guitarcenter today for the first time and WOW. I was blown away. It sounded as good as an MIA Jazz V (IMO). Now, Ive played high end basses and this thing sure comes close. And the best part, its only $199.00! Does anyone have one of these basses? What do you think about it? The only downfall I think is the low B string, pretty floppy, but about the same with all other Fender 5's.

I played a Squier Jazz 4 a while back and I really liked the tone and feel a lot more than I did some MIM gear that was in the same shoppe...I don't know if it was an infinity series or not, it was passive and it was a 4-banger, like I said...

One of the nicest Fender V's I've played in recent history was a MIK Fender 24 V, it just flat out kicked butt...

no, not all Fender B's are floppy...why should they be?...to me "floppy" is a perception that comes from two major factors: technique and setup...

I tried one from Musician's Friends. Beautiful in metallic red. Sent it back after about 2 weeks as it would not intonate correctly and stay in tune. Probably issues with the neck. They were out of stock on the same color so I never did get another.

I own one. Played one at GC was blown away, went back the next week and bought it. Mine plays and sounds amazing though I did have to shim the neck to get the action low. The B string was floppy so I moved the string retainer so it would go across all of the strings. It improved it a little but not as much as I would like. Mine is now strung E-C and it rocks. Stays in tune, intonation is spot on, plays better than the MIJ P-bass I have. Try before you buy though.
