Squier Affinity PJ

So I came across this on the Fender site. Is anyone excited for this, or just me?

Personally, I like the fact that the colour options are different from your run of the mill sunburst-white pickguard / black-white pickguard standards. Besides, its a PJ which looks really cool and its sorta like a throwback to the old Squier P-Bass Specials?

For those of you with no idea what I'm talking about:

Some of us were discussing the new "Affinity Precision PJ" a little while ago. A number of us are very pleased Squier has resurrected the P-Bass Special. We also got to talking a little bit about the new Affinity Jazzes.

One thing that looks very encouraging about the new Affinities is that, according to the specs, they've switched away from the closed-box tuners (personally, I didn't like them anyway) to the standard Squier open-gear tuners.

I almost pulled the trigger on one yesterday during GC's Used Gear Expo. But I already have a lovely Standard P-Bass Special so I traded towards something else. However, that doesn't mean I don't want one. Maybe, just maybe, sometime at the end of the year…

Musician's Friend is worried about me. They're concerned that I haven't ordered anything from them in a while. So they just sent me a coupon (code) for 20% off any single item over $49. I immediately thought of the Affinity PJ. $180-20% is a pretty good deal. So I want to know--has anyone picked one of these up and if so, how is it? My offer is only good for one week so hurry up! Thanks.

Forget it. Squier is "a manufacturer that has chosen not to participate." Musician's Friend will have to wait for my business a little longer.

Has anyone A/B'd this with a Yamaha RBX170?

I need a cheapo and I'm thinking a PJ will cover the most bases. They both cost the same new. I won't be modding either aside from a string change.

Does anyone know which has a nice warm tone with the solo'd precision pup with the tone rolled down?

I'm not expecting much out of the j pup. In my experience, cheapo PJ's have mostly crappy bridge pickups.
