Have you owners had to shield your CV 60s P? My house has a lot of RFI so I get a lot of buzz if all my fingers leave the strings for even a second.

If you let your fingers off the strings and you get buzz it's NOT RFI, it's electrostatic interferences. You need a better conductive paint or grounding with adhesive copper in the cavities to direct the static electricity to the ground of your jack cable.
People often mix them. Even serious guitar builders. Single coil noise is inherent and there's no "shilding" that can prevent it.
What people usually refer to "shielding" is grounding issue, but yes if you get some noise when you let go your fingers from the strings, it's this issue. What I did for mine, was applying copper tape in the cavities
Remove the pickguard , check the both pickup and electronic cavity has shield paint or not ? if yes, check are there a wire connect from volume pot to shield cavity or not .......

Hello. I don't know if what I wrote will be useful. But when I use the big LANEY amp I don't have any buzzing, unnecessary sounds and interference from the bass. When I connect the bass to the Fender Rumble 15 and don't touch the strings, I hear a crackling sound.

I recently bought a Squier by Fender Precision, "Crafted in Indonesia". Bought it to play in our surf band, so it had to match the guitars. Silly, I know, but it's a surf band thing. The guitars are Daphne Blue, and the bass doesn't quite match. Sonic Blue, maybe? Close enough.
We've done a few mods. Gold anodized aluminum pickguard. Cream pickup covers. Copper foil shielded cavities. Higher quality pots. Treble bleed. Looks good, plays good, sounds good.
Now, I'm thinking about adding a bass extender. Looking at a Hipshot BT7 Bass Xtender. Does anyone know if that would be the best choice? Ideally, I'd prefer a drop-in replacement.
While I'm here, how could I determine if my P is a CV or some other model?

Did you try looking the serial number up in the Fender serial number search site?
Hey Isaac a pic should suffice. Does it have a matching headstock? If so it may be sonic blue or surf green otherwise it's likely Squiers version of daphne blue and should be a CV (Classic Vibe). I built a J with a Squier CV daphne body I'll add a couple pics below. As far as the bass extender @Yahboy may know of a drop in or someone else should chime in shortly. Congrats on the new bass Isaac.
What are the letters and first couple of numbers of the serial number, as well as what country it was manufactured? Those will go a long way with it's series and model.
I had tried others. One said that it wasn't a Squier serial number. But the Fender site (Serial Number Lookup) indicates that it is indeed a CV.

I don't have that one but dig that combo, post-mods look great and (IMO) a great vintage pastel color for a surf band, right behind seafoam green. CV's = solid players.
I certainly can't complain, and it doesn't hurt that one of our guitarists is one of the best setup techs I've ever known.
As you might guess from my avatar, I tend toward Rickenbackers, but the P sound just seems right for this band and this music.
