Err, I have the worst camera!
Just paid off this layaway. The 32" scale is perfect. Sounds better than all the other basses in the store up to $1,000. I actually bought one of these from Amazon and it had so much fret buzz. Took it to the local Fender authorized service center to see if the warranty could do anything about it. He said "it was in desperate need of a setup" and did one without my authorization. He just straightened the neck and there was more fret buzz than when I dropped it off. So I didn't pay for the "setup" and returned the bass.
Found this one at Portland Music Company and their guy got rid of the fret buzz in 2 minutes.
My first bass/guitar with single coils. Was worried they'd be too noisy because there's a lot of noise in my rig, especially in the bass amps for some reason. But it's not any more noisy than the 2 basses with humbuckers.
The humbucker basses have muddy midrange and harsh, distorted treble. I'm finally getting the bright tone I've been chasing.

The Squier Jaguars are great basses. 32 in scale? I had one in short-scale - ie 30 inches. You're sure that's not what you have? I don't have mine any more, unfortunately to check on that; I donated it to a Christian High School that needed a bass for their chapel praise music band.

Now that I compare the two, I see that the controls configuration is slightly different. So .... I dunno .... aren't you missing a control?

There have been 30", 32" and 34" scale Jags across the Squier line. These Classic Vibes, and the Affinity range with the single MM pickup in the P position, and definitely 32" medium scale.

Nice bass, OP! Been sorely tempted by one of these myself, even though I absolutely don't need one.

Definitely 32" scale. They're concentric knobs so there's actually 2 volumes and 2 tones. It's nice to have the ability to blend the pickups. The Fender Mustang I was considering just had a 3-way switch.

I'm keeping the plastic on the pickguard for now because I want to get a 1-ply black replacement and might have to send this one to PickguardPlanet.com to make a copy from. They did one for my guitar. $77 after shipping both ways but it looks so much better without that ugly white outline.

OK!! Yes, I agree about blending!! Couldn't tell from the pic. I have a Mustang, so I know what you're saying about the switch ....

I love B&B necks on Jags. None of the VM short scales had B&B necks, so its not 30”.

There's also a Squier Jag out there with the MM type pickup in the bridge position.

It's great to have a volume and tone for each pickup. You get to blend the pickups and have independent tone settings. I can't stand when there's only one tone for 2 pickups.
I need a lot of treble in my bass, but this bridge pickup is kinda honky, so I keep the tone open on the neck and roll it off on the bridge, and keep the bridge volume about 2/3 of the neck volume.

My hands have been aging out and I recently tried the 32" CV Jaguar bass and LOVE the scale. But after playing only 5 strings (strung E to high C) for 20 years, I was missing the 5th string. Ended up converting the bass into a 5 string. Love it so much another one is headed my way as I write this -- soon also to be converted to a Five string.

That's cool. Aren't the strings kinda cramped on a 4 string neck?

For years I played Ibanez SR 885s from the early 1990s -- probably owned a dozen in total. Then I happened on the previous generation (1985/6) 5 string from Ibanez -- the RB 885. It was built with narrower string spacing -- basically they used fatter 4 string neck for the first production 5's they created. A 42 mm width (at nut) similar to a P Bass. I was used to playing that spacing, and actually used an original RB885 bridge on this Jag build. Now it's 38mm wide at the nut (Jazz bass width) so the left hand at the bottom of the neck is a bit tighter. Since I'm trying to minimize all hand movements, its helping so far. I did try a Fender Bass VI, but the strings are WAY to close together for comfortable plucking IMO -- more of a picking instrument.

UPDATE: I put SD Hot Stack jazz bridge and Steve Harris signature P-Bass pickups. Gotoh bridge and Reso-lite 28:1 tuners. Black strap buttons and screws. Spray-painted the control plate. Covered the white edge of the pickguard with black pinstriping tape. Black string tree. All black knobs.
