Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass '60s

Hi guys,

I went to local music store, looking for a new electric bass. I'm no bass player, but I have to play bass occasionally..:hyper:

I already got a beginner's Yamaha Jazz Bass, but I do not like to play it; I prefer Precision style, at last for now.

So, I gave a whirl to this new Squier Classic Vibe PB and it felt so good I couldn't believe it; compared to basses costing twice as much it was better!

Hmm...Can it really be that good? There must be a catch somewhere... What do you seasoned players think about this new Squier classic vibe line?

Can't call myself "seasoned" exactly, and I've never yet held one of these basses in my hands. My local music store has had the classic vibe 50's P on order for close to a couple of months. They really do exist I take it?

Went into one of the guitar stores here today and they had all 3 of the classic vibe series. I was really looking forward to the Jazz so asked to try it out.

Got to say, I was disappointed. There was nothing about it in person that made me want it! Pickups didn't sound that great in my opinion and overall...just felt cheap! I know that's maybe half the idea but all I play is a MIM Jazz and an Aerodyne...hardly in the upper class of basses!

For an advertised £270 it really wasn't worth it. Even if I haggled down, I wouldn't be happy! Maybe it was the bass - badly set up, had to ask for a tuner cause it was all over the place - or the amp but will be passing on this sadly!
