i had an indonisean(sp) p-bass as my first bass, i got it in one of those player value packs

i ended up selled it for $30 when i bought my 79 G-3 but i wish i still had it:hmm:

i think im gonna ask my friend to sell it back to me just for kicks and giggles

I just got a new Squier Vintage Jazz Fretless just like Lostrings pic on the first page of this thread.

Can't say enough good about it. My first fretless, less than a week old and for the $280 it cost me, I am loving it.

Havent picked up my MIA Jazz 5 since Mr. Brown dropped by with the Squier.

I took it to rehearsal at church on Thursday and it went so well (everyone loved the sound) that I'm going to use it tomorrow morning for both services.

I'm really, really tempted to go for a Vintage Modified as a backup to my MIM. I wish I could find more reviews of them.

Those basses have Duncan-designed pickups.

The basses might be legit.

No pics yet, but I just bought the Squier Vintage Modified Precision bass (aka Sid Vicious replica). It's my first foray into the PBass world and I'm lovin' it!

The Duncan Designed pups really do it justice as you can really get variety in tone.

I took it to rehearsal, straight off the rack and it played fine, everything stock. All I did was tune it. :bassist:

Although, I'll still get it setup and put XL .45-.105's on it when the factory strings go dead.

I'm in(well, not quite yet ;) ). Just an Indonesian P that I bought for $15 & it was abused and then some. Took some time just to get all the stickers off :D Gutted the electronics as the pots were more akin to rusty lumps. Spent a little more than a month getting the neck back to reasonably straight status. It's actually pretty nice now. The to do/add list includes a Reverend P pickup, one of Butch's Bayou pre-wired harnesses, Black Badass, tuners & knobs & finally throwing some black (plastic formula) Krylon on the pickguard. I dig blacked-out basses :bassist:

Slightly undersized pbass body, 51 pbass (telebass) headstock/neck and a mustang pickup.....

That's right, it's my MIJ Squire bullet, and I love it! Even with the underpowered pickup (will probably be replaced someday) it is a really nice well made bass. Best 50 bucks I ever spent!

This 89 MIK jazz was a good player, once I replaced the pickups with EMG selects.

Very bright and snappy top-end, and no channel route, so it looked fine without the pick guard. The purchase of the bullet meant that this one had to go. It had an amazing neck (the reason I bought it), But I don't miss it, since the plywood body didn't have much resonance.

Wow, you got a jem or I got a dud. I ended up with my brothers first bass (mine was a MIM pbass that I still play) which was an Indonesian squire with a plywood body. The terrible neck was it's most memorable feature. IMHO indonesia rates even lower than China on the Fender and Squire scale of desireablity vs country of origin.

Glad you got a good one though. Rock the Squire!
