Squier CV Mustang Bass needs more powerful pickups

This is the harness I used, CTS 500 pots, not a Mustang one.

When I purchased the seller also put the correct tails on for where I could wire the pickups to. This Mustang parts bass was the first/only one I assembled from parts. I'm not a skilled luthier by any means.

I have those on the bass in my avatar, but I can't find a photo of them. Got them off Reverb. Work great but be warned that they are mounted on the bottom of the pots and depth of the body may be an issue. At least the one I had.

So, did anyone fit the Nordstrand NM4 inside the Squire CV Mustang Bass (current series)? Does it need any changes to the pickguard?
Pickups on my Squire just died, so I'm in need of new ones. I was thinking of upgrading them anyway. After some research, I find NM4 tones to my liking, but I'm confused by the sizes of those pickup covers.

You will have to compare the dimensional specs, which are posted on-line on the Nordy website. Nordy does not sell the pickup covers, so you will need to keep your covers. They come in "vintage" and "modern" physical dimensions. When in doubt, email them directly. They are most helpful.

My understanding is that Squiers use the smaller “vintage” sized Mustang pickups and that those are generally considered the standard sizing by all the boutique companies. I think only the Japanese and JMJ Mustangs use the larger “modern” pickups

I have the Nordstrand in my CV. You want the smaller "vintage" version. It rocks.
