Squier CV P-bass - Real black binding\blocks?

Does anyone know if these Squiers have real binding and block inlays or are they painted?

They're real inlays.

I'm pretty sure the binding is the same plastic as any other binding. The block inlays are also just plastic. It doesn't mother of pearl or abalone like the American counterparts.

I'm not sure where rumours like this started. Yeah, you can buy stickers to replicate the effect, but even the cheapest Chinese blocked necks I've seen online have actual inlays.

That would look awful after a few hours of playing....or if you didn't put the stickers on straight...

I've never used them, but people who have on TB say they're actually pretty durable. On a fretted bass you wouldn't really do much damage to them unless you're a ham fisted ape. No offense meant to ham fisted apes.
