Squier Deluxe 5 string active with soundclips

Ok...so I walk into Guitar Center yesterday and I play this Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active (5-String) and it blows me away!!! It plays and sounds amazing and for a ridiculous price of $270.00!!!
Here are some clips and great job to Fender!!! I love the flat fretboard, 12" radius and the wide 19mm spacing!!!

I will post pics soon!!! BTW-the recordings were done through an Avalon U5 right into my Focusrite Saffire, into my PC, and I used Sonar for recording....no effects....

I bought mine in May...I had narrowed down a few 5ers and when I played it...I said, "yep, I'll take it"...I'm still lovin' it.

I'd love to have a VM fretless Jazz, and a CV 60's P-bass to round it out...these new squiers are SICK! :)

BTW the new squier guitars are also pretty impressive

great clips

ya, these new Squires are incredible

they sound great stock, but they are a modders dream

throw in a set of highend pickups, pre of choice, ( or go passive ) & it easily competes with the highend boutiques, ( i actually play mine more than my 55-01 )

i own a Precision Special 5, pretty the same bass just that is passive. same sized neck, same 4 string pickups, same bridge... and i like the feel of it. i am waiting for a set of sadowskys HC , Fodera SS strings and i already have a fender vintage wiring kit ( 3 CTS+ Switchcraft ) and i am waiting for a tb-er to pm about some tuners.

i hardly wait to begin this modification.

i just got the bass this thursday.

squier are da bomb!! ( and i own a pretty high-end bass , see sig. )

These are the exact squiers i own. Got the fretless first and was amazed by the quality. Just recently acquired the P and it's even better! My main electric is a squier strat that just kills. Lovin' these new models.:bassist:

Maybe I'm an idiot, but that sounds incredible. Every time I'm GASSIN for something expensive, I hear something like this. Then I realize I need to play more and quit worryin about gear. Your tone and style seriously ROCK. I have the Sqiure VM fretless. Its an incredible bargain, sounds like yours is too.

I agree with above posters. This is a great bass at a great price - and there aren't a lot of wide spaced budget 5-strings available. I have big hands and a hard time to deal with narrow spacing. Trying out this bass convinced me that when I order a custom 5-string it should have 19 mm spacing!
