Check this out! I just bought a 2015 squier dimension bass. I tear every bass I get apart just to see how it works, to my surprise this "special designed" pickup that fender made for these is literally 2 jazz bass pickup with a plastic cover..it's 2 separate wound pickups...maybe a 50s style p bass pickup? No after measuring their the same as as my 93 standard jazz... this is nuts to me,I expected a Mm style humbucker and now I see this....makes me wonder about replacement possibilities..can I just by any old neck pickup for jazz basses? Would a music man brick style pickup fit in the cavity? Also makes me wonder what's next from fender claiming they have something new just for marketing purposes!

2 jazz neck pickups!

2 separate bobbins that sit on one magnet...ceramic from what I googled, then that goes to the 3 band eq...

Doesn’t sound like a Jazz bass to me! While the coils might look like J pickups, they could be wound differently. Even if they’re exactly the same, it will sound different with ceramic magnets (and steel poles), in a humbucker arrangement, in the MM spot, with a preamp…

and frankly, I don’t know how you expected MM type pickups after seeing the two poles per string design on the outside…
