Hey guys,
I currently own a Fender Squier California Series Jazz Bass that I bought second hand a bit over a year ago. I've always been relatively pleased with the tone of this bass even though it is only a Squier. However the pick ups have had it and are starting to rust due to me living near the ocean.
I've recently come into a bit of money and figured I may as well do her up a bit with a new pick guard, control plate etc.
I figured whilst I'm doing this I may as well go all out at slap some new pick ups in there. I've heard the Seymour Duncans that come stock in the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz are meant to be pretty flash, and I've recently looked at the Fender Vintage Noiseless Jazz pickups as well as the Bassline Quarter Pounders.
I'm looking for a real aggressive tone with a lot of mid range bite as I play a lot of funk.
If anyone can give me some feedback on this matter as well as suggesting some other types of pick ups that would be suited to this it would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
