Squier Jazz MIJ... Stock Dimarzios?

Hey, A friend has just lent me a bass that has some wiring issues and also needs to be earthed. He had left it in a closet with three strings on it for over a year. He lent it with the possible idea of selling it to me and also so I could get her back into top shape.

It's a Squier Jazz, E series MIJ.

The first thing I noticed were the pick-ups. They are cream coloured with hex pins like dimarzios. They really stand out as the bass is black with black pickguard. Was there ever a japanese squier that came with this style of pick-ups as stock?

I don't want to remove the pick-ups to check them as they sound absolutely perfect as they are and I don't want to lose a great tone.

It appears that the bridge may have been changed too as there are three screw holes behind the bridge that are unfilled which would mean it's not implausible that the pick-ups have been changed!

Any info you may have would be great!!!
