Squier Short Scale Jaguar Bass

I love mine as is, but if I was looking to upgrade,

New pickups with better balance. The P on mine is so hot that if I try to mix in the J the loss of mids and output is unacceptable. That said, I like the P soloed and just leave it like that. The tuners could be upgraded, but the stock ones work fine and I don't experience neck dive.

Just my opinion: If I'm going to put $ into upgrades I shouldn't have gone so cheap to begin with. If it can't do the job stock, I'll pass.

But this bass is so cheap (and fun for the money) I'm just tempted to 'bling it up' to max out the vintage Jaguar character!

Being a Thunderbird player, this bass is my backup/tight spaces bass. That said, I gotta admit, I like it more than I thought I would. Here's the pair:

I understand the allure of the so called "mod platform." If that's what folks want to do, everything in the Squier line is an ideal candidate. That's why I worded my comment in the first person. Modding just isn't my thing. Again, if I were, pickups!

It's easy to forget the headstock on a Thunderbird is bigger than the body of some guitars
