Squier truss nut size - quick question

Hey guys,
I did a search here, no luck. I just need to know what the truss nut size is for squier basses? I am about to buy a used 2008 model P-bass and I need to make sure the truss nut adjusts, but I will need to bring the proper tool. Right now planning to take my Fender truss tool as well as whatever hex wrenches I can find, metric and standard.

Any knowledge out there on this topic? Advice for longtime Fender owner but first time Squier owner?

As a Squier owner, I can confidently tell you... I can't remember the truss nut size. But I do know that I've used one hex wrench from my fairly standard set of imperial and metric sizes.

thanks. even though the bass is only costing $70, I am wondering if it is a good idea to buy. I hear they are cheaply made and that the wood used for the necks is often not very good, resulting in various types of neck and setup nightmares including unusable necks.

yes, I know, its a Squier, but it still has to be usable in order to be worth even $70. Hmmm...

I bought an '03 Squier P for $65. The truss rod was maxxed out and with some washers I managed to get it to reasonable relief. Through no one's fault but mine I stripped the threads on it. Rplaced it with a MIM 50s RI neck and am very happy with it. I had fun pulling the fingerboard off of the old one and will probably make a new truss rod for it just for fun. who knows, I might have a use for it down the road.

To answer your question, mine is either 4mm or 5/32. My allen keys are all unorganized but one of those should be correct.

just went to check it out. yuck! only good news was that the truss nut did turn. But not a standard Fender or MIM nut. Tried to set up the neck, couldnt get it anywhere close. Pass.
