Was a properly fettled and setup Mike Kerr Jaguar bass really that bad?Had 2 of them. They were ergonomic marvels and sounded great. They were also total steals at $500 on CL for the pair. I’d love to see some
Fender branded versions that don’t suck (sorry Mike Kerr).
You can get the Jaguar H Affinity series. 32" scale with a MM pickup. Great modding platform. Two J pups could be added but with a pickup upgrade of the stock ceramic MM style it's transformed.I'd like to see them with a J/J option instead of P/J. Even a 32" scale would be fine.
I just signed up here because I stumbled into this post on a Google search after picking up a great condition 2015 Candy Apple Red. Yes, these are great Basses and are real fun to play. If you really want to get excited about how great they can sound, here is Mario Lalli playing these regularly in the Brant Bjork Trio and Yawning Man. (Modified with a BS-DS Curtis Novak set) It just sounds fantastic and I agree they should bring these back.
