Squier VM 5'ers

Hey guys!

Wondering if anyone has picked up one of the new 5'er VM squiers? I'm currently renting one and I must say, for the $300 used, it is a pretty sick bass. The low B (as many of us know for anything not higher end) is not quite there, so I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to make it a bit more beefier. I want it to work cause it sounds really awesome, but if I cant get that B rocking then there's no point haha

Let me know what you think!

You know, I tested the Squier low B vs my Sterling 5 HH & Carvin Icon 5 HH just yesterday...

I dont think its that far off... then again I had an Audere pre in there. I keep trying to justify getting a MIA Standard & I cant! I know I hate the Deluxe J MIA for sure, the most bland tone ever.

I had purchased the Squier VM P5 last December, and wasn't that impressed with the B string either, and sold it pretty quickly. The dude I sold it to loved it, and I started having second thoughts that maybe I sold it TOO quickly.

Recently, I wanted a cheap bass to bang around the office, so I picked up another VM P5 thinking "what could it hurt?". I was much more happy with this one, it sounds great. So great in fact, that I picked up another for the home, which also I am very happy with.

These basses have been very nice. Dare I say, due to the value of the instrument, I'm actually enjoying it more than the USA P5. I think they set up a lot nicer than the USA P5 does too. Very comparable in sound too. For $300, it's a really a good value and a good instrument.

I have a VM jazz deluxe 5 string i replaced the preamp with a Bassmods 18v 3band($70 i think) and it made the bass rock almost as good as my old traben Bootzilla 5er with a Aguilar ob3 18v. the only thing i would do to it now is put the VM jazz block neck
