Squier VM Jaguar HB owners wanted for newbie help

Hi guys just trying to make friends with some of you who have the same bass I just bought and seeing as I'm new to bass, 3 months, thought I might be able to line up a couple of you who wouldn't mind helping if I ever had any instrument specific questions.
OK first question, what strings are you guys using and do you use them for a specific sound or just good all around sound?
Myself I'm just learning so I have no specific sound I'm going for and basically like everything from Metallica to the Temptations to church music( my wife is church music director). I have no aspirations of ever playing anywhere except with friends and hopefully in church someday as we have no bass player, but about 20 guitarists lol. Hopefully I have given enough info as to where I am and where I am going to suffice, but I'm sure I haven't so I won't be insulted if you ask more details in order to give some good advice, thanks in advance

I had one briefly, and I really liked it. However, the new Fender Blacktop Precision came out soon after....and I feel in love with it instead so the HB had to go.

I'm a big fan of Rotosounds and DRs. On my Geddy Jazz I use Rotos, and the brief time I had the HB I used DR Drop Tune strings (regular gauge). Seemed to suit the HB quite well.

Keep in mind that the HB is a very aggressive sounding bass (lots of mids), so it would probably be perfect for the Metallica but you'd likely have to tone it down somewhat for the Temptations.
