Squire Bullet Bass

Hi , I just bought a squire bullet bass made in 1983 or 1984 in japan . The bass should arrive soon but until then I wondered if there is anyone who owns one or knows more information about this bullet bass . I heard that the american made ones were either short scale or long scale but what about the squires ,were they also made in a short or long scale version ? . Does anyone know from what wood the body is made of at these basses ?
