Squire P basses

Bought a Squier 60's CV P back in January. After a professional setup I'm blown away by how nice it sounds and how easy it is to play. I've also heard nothing but great things about the VM's as well. The CV series is a perfectly solid bass for beginner practice/jamming and even some gigs when you're ready.

I have an Ibanez SR700 that is technically a "higher quality" bass, but I jam out on my CV almost daily.

AFAIK all new (2014 & maybe late 2013) VMs have a gloss finish, my PJ certainly does, and I know that the 70s/77 Jazz's do now, too.

There's plenty of satin finish models still out there, but ordering sight unseen, you could get either.

A small tin of satin varnish and a couple of days with a brush and two or three coats and it has a satin neck.

Love my CV 60's precision. I was leaving GC one day and spotted this one in a stand on the floor. In brand new condition, I got it for 200.00. The quality is incredible. Sounds great with Fender 9050 flats, but May string it up with some Elixers to see how it sounds. Can't go wrong with a CV or VM. Tried a VM jazz one day and the neck played great. Briefly owned a VM Telecaster bass special.that was a wonderfully built and sounding bass with a 32" scale, but was a bit heavy for my liking. If it was a pound or so lighter I would have kept it.

Just bought a VM P5 last week. Very nice bass that I'd have no problem taking on a gig exactly as is. Squier is knocking it out of the park these days.
