Stack Knob J bass project

Ok so I have a new Fender J bass with the s-1 switch. I really hate the s-1 but I have always wanted a stack knob J bass so why not throw in stack knob pots!?! But I want to use really great pots and do it correct the first time. I am also thinking of sticking the Nostrand Nj4 pups in the bass, is that a significant upgrade from the stock american standard pups? I want more of a vintage sound and I am willing to dump some cash into the bass. Im kind of new to all this so any advice on what pots/pups to get and configurations to wire it all up would be great!!
I appreciate your wisdom!

i did that exact same thing. Theres a couple of places to find stacked knob kits

cts pots
sprague caps

you can look on ebay for control plates and find some ppl that make them for you, all you do is solder pickups to it and drop it in.. its a good mod. I put my s-1 switch into my old mexi jazz. i got 2 upgrades in one!
