Double Bass STAGG 3/4 EDB strings

Since the traditional upright sound came from gut strings, ...
But they are probably more expensive than the Stagg EDB.
For pizz only, Innovation Silver Slaps (or Golden, just differ in color). For a bit of bowing too: Innovation Honeys or downtuned Evah Solo.
Spirocore sound more modern with a long sustain, even downtuned Solos.
But since you miss the resonating body with the Stagg and some things are suboptimal (bridge, lacquered fingerboard which is harder on the surface than a traditional one) a Stagg will never sound like a traditional DB.
On the other hand you can damp the strings by hand for shorter notes which is one (of many) characteristics of the sound of a traditional DB. So it is the players responsibility too to make the desired sound.
But they are probably more expensive than the Stagg EDB.

Any of the popular gut alternatives would probably work.
That could include Innovation Super Silvers or Eurosonics. Though, you may need to get the nut slotted to accommodate the larger diameter of those strings.
If, for whatever reason, you would prefer a steel/steel wound string, any of the darker orchestral strings might suit you. (Evah Pirazzi Orchestra, Thomastik Belcantos, D'Addario Kaplans or Jargars) They have less growl and sustain so they'll have less of that "fretless electric" sound.
That could include Innovation Super Silvers or Eurosonics. Though, you may need to get the nut slotted to accommodate the larger diameter of those strings.

I should add that the measures that I suggested might help. As DoubleMIDI said, getting a mostly or entirely solid electric upright to sound like an acoustic can be difficult if not impossible.
