Stainless with round core?

GHS had experimented with some stainless steel round core strings, but they never made it to regular production.

Mapes is currently not making guitar/bass strings, but seemingly expect to get back on it at some point. I remember they made a hex core string and also an octa-core string, which, while not round, would be closer. I don't recall if they offered it in stainless steel though.

I love hi-beams but have trouble finding the 45-100 guage roundwound nearby, any other brands making that guage in stainless with a round core?
If you're relying on the local store for your strings, your selection will always be limited. I stopped shopping for strings locally a long time ago. I would suggest you consider reputable online dealers, such as Strings By Mail and Fret Nation (my top two), for your strings.

In the round core steel string market DR basically has the most options and is the most accessible through the typical retail channels. If you don't want to try fodera which we know is another DR string then you can see if you can find Sandberg strings that they use on their basses. I don't know who builds those but it could be DR for all I know. GHS might be able to custom built some strings but their main round core string is nickle plated in the round core boomers.

Dogal carbonsteels, but they are pricey. Stringsbymail has em. I switched to SIT stainless rounds and have yet to look at other strings. Hated DR's too, floppy rubber bands, went dead pretty quickly.
