Starting a band(HELP/vox/mic)

I have a few friends who play guitar/ drums and want to jam. I have some stuff written and want to do vocals. What kind of mic should I get? What kind of pa should I get? Its just going to be for practice and maybe a small show with less than 50 people

Anything used P.A. wise you can find cheap.

Any old Shure SM57 or 58 will more then do for ya as far as mic's go for vocals.

just make sure if mix and match a PA, which may or may not be cheaper in the long run depending on what you get, that you buy a powered mixer. My band had a little problem with that....not fun.
