Someday I would like to get one of those Headless ones in a 5 string. I have a secret fascination with them since I saw Mark King play "Something About You" on one, it sounded pretty amazing.

I too really like mine and I must say can't really play over the bridge pickup, either, but I suspect most of it has to do with the fact that the pickup is located really close to the bridge; coupled with the fact that I pluck with three fingers (I can't really play with two fingers any more), the string tension is a bit much down there. Other than that, it's a ridiculously punchy sounding bass that needs almost zero EQing when I record with my bands.
Mine is really light, by the way, I'm pretty surprised that most people here have heavy Status basses.
