Are of excellent build quality and are upper level products. MSC also sells Legion Sound speakers which are more of the budget/lower midline speaker cabinets just like Steelsound.

Mind you - most of the Legion Sound/Steelsound cabinets use Madison drivers - and they sound very nice for the money.

I owned a Steelsound 2x12 for some time - still own Steelsound monitor wedges and Madison PA speakers and subs - good stuff.

The Steel Sound stuff really isn't *exactly* high build quality or hi level gear. It's OK and a pretty decent value. I snagged a set of their PA trapazoids and dropped some extra JBL 15's in. Not bad, not great. The hardware was plastic and the rat fur covering is really pretty light. Having said that, 2 cab's horns, drivers and crossovers were $180 landed. That is really darned cheap and hardware is easily upgraded. This isn't 'desert island' or take it to the casket gear. The cab's are really a bit of a step down from say Avatar in terms of build quality. Still, for what they are, decent bang for the buck ...

I said that Madison speakers (www.madisonspeakers.com) are the higher end stuff.

As I said in my original post - Steelsound/Legion sound gear is budget - low mid grade gear that is good value for the money.

Madison drivers (Knights/Executioners/etc.) are fairly nice drivers with a pretty good following (Like TB pro Jauqo III-X).

Bottom line is that we are in agreement - but I never said that Steelsound gear is high end.

Sorry I must have missed that. Fact is that the kind of gear we are discussing hear (in this thread) isn't at all high end. Not where high end is defined in in terms of Bergantino, EA, Epifani, etc ... on the other hand; if it does the trick fantastic.

I have to recommend their 2x12. I love mine. I play fingerstyle and pickstyle and get a great sound from it. FYI, when looking at MSC's products, basically any model number that starts with EMI is probably made of particle board, whereas the model numbers starting with SSB are the plywood cabs.

my first 3 cabs i ever got a few years ago were a steelsound 410, 210 and a 15. I love them for the money, they work great for PA too. I also recorded a band using that 15 inch for a guitar and got a few compliments on it. They were great for me because i was getting used to the whole head/cab thing, i realized that i'm more of a 10inch guy and i didn't have to spend tons of money to try different cabs and realize it.

Yea thanks for the feedback at least for now im going with a cheap emi 15 or maybe even an 18 or should i go with 4 10s help me out guys i dont have a clue an 18 a 15 or 4 10s i plan on doing my first gig with it a battle of the bands at my school auditorium mostly punk rock so what should i get? Eventually i can upgrade or add on but im strapped for cash rigfht now so any feedback on one of these three would greatly be appreciated.

SSB212 - it's a 2x12 cabinet that is the same enclosure as the Steelsound 2x12 documented in this thread:

It's a good, working man's cabinet that I do not hesitate to recommend. If you're going for a budget, single cab solution - this is the one (IMO). The Madison Knights are extremely fast 12's, so you get punch along with good low frequency response as well.
