Steinberger Club

Back on this site after maybe... 20 years, lol. Glad to see a Steinberger group because I am obsessed with them too!

Regarding Ed Roman, I just had one baseball bat bridge saddle screw for my other XL2 sent out ($15 lol.) they had to dig for it and we're actually great about getting it to me. Bob (now part owner) also threw in a couple of the Delrin strap buttons I needed for my swivel plate. Both of these items are like unicorns so I am very happy.

If someone has Q vs1 I’d like to have tracings of the body, control cavity cover and control cavity routings.

Just in case you haven't seen this, there's a v1 "project" body on ebay right now. Might be easier than reshaping an XM.

Edit: Sorry, I've just seen you're in Finland. The seller only ships within the US.

Don't know if I've posted it here but here's my XL-25 that I picked up last September.

I found the string discussion earlier in the thread quite interesting. When I got this bass, it needed some definite TLC. Battery cover missing and the jaws were pretty much shot. Thanks to the people at Headless USA for replacement parts. When it came to strings, I tried quite a few, ending up with the D'Addario NYXL double ball. They worked out great. I will keep using them in the future.

I saw that body too. Pity he does not ship to Finland. I'm not going to reshape the existing XM body, I'm making a new body.

I just found this group, here's a pic I took of my XM25 (#N6863) while doing a claw changeout a while back. I bought this in the late 1990's and have never seen another...anyone else own one? And can I please get a group #?

Another question for the experts... is this a XM-25 or a XM-25a? I've seen both referenced but don't know the difference :)

Heads up for those looking for a strap extender for your steinberger spirit
Rick turner guitars sells the “dingus” strap extender on reverb.
$35
Another option Is from bootlegger guitars. They’re offering a liscenced version of the Warwick “chest bow” extender, originally for the Nobby Meidel bass
Also available directly from bootlegger guitars.
The Warwick is more expensive but includes Schaller type strap lock system
I have both coming and will see which one I like most.
