Details

Putting up my great Steinberger L2 for sale/trade, made 7/15/82. Serial number is #333. All original and works great. Has some mojo but nothing major, its in pretty good shape. I go from wanting to sell it one day to wanting to keep it the next, so dont miss this opportunity to own this rare gem before I come to my senses!

Sounds great and is really comfortable to play. Just put on new GHS strings.

Comes with original leg rest but non-original bag. Price is $2200 shipped in ConUS only.

Only trades I would entertain is a Spector...of equal value or something like a Euro 4 plus cash on your end.

Pics are from previous owner. I can take more for serious buyers, PM me for more info.

OK a free bump for one of the all time great basses. I have had three. Sold them all. I regret it severely.

Thanks! Ive been wavering for a while now on whether to sell, but I have GAS for a Spector.

From one of Ned's great creations to another. Nothing wrong with that. I would love an original NS2 myself. Good luck with you search, and your sale!

Is there a particular reason you have it strung like that? I'm referencing the balls of the strings outside the captures?

Yes i have been asked this a couple of times...from what I know, this is an early L2 and alot of the available double ball strings are slightly too long to put the top ball ends in the "nut". This is because of the string not the bass. This works completely fine like this and intonates/tunes up perfectly. As you can see in this photo, your friend and mine, Geddy, has his L2 strung like this as well:

Sorry, saw this and had to respond, those round holes in the top were for set screws not ball ends, its in case you wanted to use single ball strings on it....when the L2 first came out there werent many double ball strings on the market....so....your bass , and Geddys, are strung correctly....Ned Steinberger doesnt make mistakes like that.:smug:
