Stephen Cobert

Colbert is funny as a correspondent. I don't have cable but the other day I caught part of his show and it wasn't doing it for me. Maybe I just caught a bad one.

I was a big fan of Steve Carell before he left The Daily Show (back when I had cable!). Still a fan.

He was my favorite corespondent on The Daily Show. I haven't seen too much of The Colbert Report so I can't comment on that.

Also, my friend's dad looks exactly like him. It's pretty funny actually, since he took us to see Jon Stewart.

+1

part of the problem is that he's ALWAYS in character. and his character, by design, is loud, abrasive, and infuriating. as much as you might love the joke, 30 minutes of it is a lot of punishment. if someone is going to be such a perfect charicature of a loudmouth like limbaugh, you almost might as well watch limbaugh! i still watch colbert when i get a chance, but i'm usually pretty tired afterwards.

stewart has a better gig ... he gets to be himself, and even when he's manic he's fun to hang out with for a half hour.
