Looking to tap into the "collective genius" here as it relates to preamps/DI boxes; specifically any recommendations for boxes with dual inputs that can feed dual outputs to either two separate DI channels or feeding two separate amps. I've just gotten back into playing after a [very] long hiatus and I'm a bit of a neophyte as it relates to a lot of modern gear. I play a Fender Jazz through a GK head with Mesa Subway cabinets. As far as effects, I recently bought a modeler that I'm happy with, but mainly use just the compressor, chorus and a bit of distortion when needed. When playing direct, the modeled amps and cabinet IRs are great.
The one piece of gear I'm glad I never parted with was my #1 bass for many years. It is a 1981 Veillette Citron VC-2 Stereo bass that I bought new. Just got it back from the luthier and it plays and sounds better than ever. The stereo output is a single TRS jack. My rig back in the day was an Alembic F2B preamp, Crown DC300s and a pair of EV-B215M cabinets (you can guess the tones that I was chasing back then ;- )
I'm trying to find a way to get sounds of it that are as good or better than back in the day, ideally with either stereo out to use with two amps, DI to two channels or a combined mono out to use with a single amp/effects chain that I use with the J-bass. I see that Tech 21, Radial and a few others make dual input preamps, but would be interested in any recommendations from the TalkBass universe. While stereo basses don't seems to be super common these days, I would think that perhaps some Ric users may do something similar with the dual outputs?...
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks - TT
