Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray 5 Bridge Replacement

I would like to replace the cheap china (?) made bridge with something better, yet affordable. Seen same kind of bridges on e-bay for little more than 10 bucks.
It has kind of bugged me from the start, because I think it's ugly. I wouldn't like any screw holes to be seen ofc, but making new ones wouldn't be a real problem (not wanted neither though).

Also changed strings to D'addario flats, the B-string didn't quite go through the bridge. I stripped the silk and it went trough with a little help from tuners. Invalid Link Removed it's this one.

Beautiful craftsmanship btw. At least in mine the frets are better filed than in Fenders (both MIA ja MIM) that I've played in music shops. The finish is a little bit of in the back, but I bought it B-stock (returned item), so I'm not sure if it's because of that.

Just because there are bridges that look similar on eBay doesn't necessarily mean you have an eBay bridge. They're all patterned after the old EBMM bridge with the mutes. The one on your bass is likely as good as any other bridge from the "affordable" category.

Does anyone make a drop-in that's better than the one on the bass? I'd imagine replacing it would require some drilling, and you're going to have the exposed holes of the stock bridge to deal with.

If the one that's on your bass doesn't have problems, then a more expensive bridge isn't better, it's doing the exact same job. IMHO

Going to hijack the thread here lol

Looking at buying one myself and the bridge is a real eyesore for me and will probably end up hurting my hand somehow later on. Anybody do any bridge replacements on these? Any drop-ins or ones with minimal drilling?

Uhg. Im in the same boat. I hate that bridge. It works but its an eyesore.
