The other day a seller in town posted two basses for sale for very cheap and I'm a bit confused as to what I should get.
The first bass is a honey burst Sterling Ray34.
The second bass is a candy apple metallic MIM 95 Fender Jazz Bass.
He only wants $200 each for both and I can only get one for now.
I can't decide which one I want so I'm asking ya'll to sway my decision.
I like both platforms and they're both on the same value category, so...........
GO!!!!
Here are some pics...............................

I'd buy both in a heartbeat but the seller wants to keep one of em and he doesn't care which one.
The Ray is tempting but the J is more of what i need. I own all Ps and a J would be cool. The Ray might be a better $$ deal but that J also has a discontinued finish and it looks awesome!
I'm confused!!

As others have said, the Ray. I have a Ray 35ca, and it is one great bass.

Side note: By my eye, the nut spacing on that Jazz looks uneven — larger between the E ad A than the A and D and the D and G. Could be the pic…or my eyes.

I agree......as long as it's legit that's a hell of a deal
True. The Fender for $200 isn't unheard of but that SBMM is about half as much as it should be. If it's legit and it looks legit, that's the way to go, but I like Stingrays. It's apples and oranges. Two compeltely different basses.

The seller is probably desperate for the dough. Buy both if you can and flip the one you don't like for a profit.

I still see it. I took a ruler to my screen — I get about 8.5mm edge to edge on the E to A, just under 8mm on the D to G. Center to center would be more. Maybe it’s the pic. Maybe this is normal for this bass. Maybe it’s not enough to care about. Or maybe I can’t measure worth a darn.

Got both of them..... $200 each!!
The Jazz is in better shape but both are impeccable. I ran serial numbers through my database at the station (I'm a cop) and nothing pops up. They're clean. They both play excellent and sound good for stock pups....still gonna switch them out. Nothing suspect about the basses. Seller has a few months to live and just wanted to pass it on to someone that can appreciate them and actually use them. This was a hell of a score today!
