Sterling Ray4 Truss Problems

Had an issue with my new Sterling, the truss wheel can be turned but it doesn't seem to adjust the neck at all, the wheel has holes to insert a level in order to turn to adjust the truss, but mine does nothing to the neck and I might be stuck with an upbow. I don't really have infinite money, so it would be nice if anyone has had an issue like this or knows any tips, thanks.

Does the nut just spin or does it get tight but not influence the neck? If it just spins it is broken. It can help to take string tension off and pull the neck straighter while adjusting the rod. This way the rod doesn't have to work so hard. If you can't get it to adjust properly and it is new, send it back.

I second RSBBass because I had the same bass in olive green HH setup and it's truss rod was broken. It spun but nothing happened. My Luthier fixed it because I got it used so I just took care of it. Cool bass but I just didn't bond with it and sold it. More than likely yours has the same issue.

Just to jump onto this thread, I got a new Ray4 earlier this year and the truss was maxed out. I didn't really notice it until I needed to tighten it a little more when I changed strings to a different tension and it was totally maxed. I still need to do something about it, but the setup is so close to correct that I haven't bothered with it yet.
