Hey guys I have an issue with my Sterling sub Ray for,when I play it like the volume of the vass fluctuates constantly like it fades in and out and I have little tone no volume when I fret a note on the d and g string what do you guys think might be the issue thanks

Is it active? If so try changing the battery, second, check your pickup to string spacing. If those don’t fix it let us know.
I changed the battery but how do I check the pickup string spacing sorry I am new to this
I’d try a couple of batteries, sometimes you can get a dud.

Pickup spacing in general will effect the sound if too close or far away from the strings. There should be specs on the bass you have. I can’t temember off the top of my head, but in general the strings will get louder the closer to the pickup poles
