Sterling, With or Without Pickguard? PICS

What do u think? Kinda looks like a G&L w/o the PG. But the PG does add some character tho.
Btw, just put a set of D'Addario prosteels on there, and I don't like em at all.. DR and EB strings rule!

I think I prefer with. Solid colors with no guard aren't really my thing. I'd rather have a guard on pretty much anything except for something with a fancy enough top to hold my attention.

I think the pick guard adds (not in an insignificant way) to the MM over-all visual appeal.

I think it looks "ordinary" without the PG. I think the musicman basses get good part of their look from the PG's. Just my opinion.

If it were a 2 pickup version,I'd say go for it. But with a single,there is too much empty space between the pickup and the neck. I vote pickguard.

The pickguard is so defining of the stingray that the lack thereof makes it very cool to me. It'll make a few more people say, "Damn, that bass sounds great, but what the hell is it?!?!"

Leave the pickguard off, and sand off the musicman label on the headstock. Let your fingers tell them who REALLY makes it sound good.

Looking more technique wise, if you like to slap you might prefer the pickguard in the long run. Most people dig having something to give 'em that space to properly hit up to pop.
