Steve Scipio of Cymande

I imagine few of you would have heard of Cymande, a 70s eclectic funk group. Fewer still would know their bassist, Steve Scipio. A self-taught player with great feel, he has one of the most unique tones I've ever heard. Sort of tinny to my ears. But I can't help but love it. I'd like to bring attention to this grossly under-appreciated bassist and group. I'm also wondering if anyone would know what bass he might have used or how his tone may have been achieved? :bassist:

I created an account just to confirm this because it was driving me crazy and I love that vibe! Looks like it was the Gibson EB-3, at least live back in the day... Very under rated bass lines.
