However inlaying almost ALWAYS involves a refret, which throws another hundred or more on top of the price. If you're dealing with maple, a partial refinish as well. I once had one in the next town over from me where the guitar tech did custom work including fret inlays. He did some very intricate work. Stuff like vines or skulls with cross bones, pretty much whatever you wanted. Block inlays would be a cinch.
