"Stiffest" bass string

Did a search, but most responses seemed related to tension-I'm actually looking for strings that are not necessarily high tension, but that are stiff. I understand hex core tends to be stiffer than roundcore strings, but beyond that, any recommedations for a brand of strings that are extremely stiff? Again, not tension related. Weird question I know...

Tension aside, Rotosound are generally regarded as some of the stiffest. I've never played them, so I can't comment on their tone. My Fodera Heavies were surprisingly unforgiving as well, but from the sounds of it, they still don't hold a candle to Rotos.

Keep in mind that many people simply don't understand that when they say "higher tension" they actually mean "stiffer", in regards to strings anyhow.

Thanks for the comments so far-might have to look more into the Rotos. I forgot to mention prefer them to be SS as opposed to NW strings.

Weird, I always thought it was the other way around when people ask that, which is the reason why I clarified in the OP.

I just assume that the two are incorrectly used interchangeably and write with respect to actual tension. I could give two flips about the physics behind a materials elasticity and flexibility.

Flats are almost always stiffer than rounds. But if you are thinking roundwound, the Sadowsky SS Black Label 45s are pretty stiff yet don't seem to be any higher tension (based on neck relief) than any other 45 I have tried.
