Still Trying to quit my membership

I make monthly payments through paypal to be a supporting member but I now want to stop. I have sent a couple of messages to the help address but have heard nothing back. I cannot find how to stop payments on my paypal account. I'm very disappointed in the lack of response, and that coupled with the changes to the site have made me more determined than ever to leave. Can anyone tell me how to change my membership status. I'm sure it's easy and that I am missing something but I could use some help. Thank you.

This might be the equivalent of “is it plugged in?” but have you tried the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page on TB?

This is the issue, and this is all you needed to say. You realize that no one at Talkbass is doing this as a full-time job and it is not their responsibility to teach you how to use your PayPal account? PayPal can help you with this.

You can do it at Paypal, but it has to be on a desktop computer. Not the mobile app.

I have tried multiple times on paypal but when I click the button to manage or cancel, it just sends me to talk bass. I then send an email to "contact us" and get nothing. Will try again now. Thanks for your help.

You definitely can de-authorize a recurring payment from within Paypal. db59 gave you the steps to follow.

If necessary you could probably just remove the payment method (bank acct etc) from your pp acct. Just don't ask stranger danger how!

As somebody who recently quit their supporting membership, I can confirm it's not as simple as some are making it sound here. If you follow the directions, you'll just go round and round in a big frustrating loop. I was finally able to get somewhere after contacting "Paul" through This Thread

Working on making this easier. We were using an out-of-date PayPal API on the old software that was making cancellation impossible for end-users. I'll get yours cancelled asap @mooseonbass

I wonder if some folks here have ever tried to cancel a membership via PayPal. Sometimes you can, but sometimes it just sends you to the relevant site. It sounds like that's what's happening to the OP, so maybe we could be a little kinder ...

Incorrect. You can 100% do it on PayPal because I have done it myself

I just helped another member do this and I am not piling on. #14 was taken care of by Paul. But if happens again to someone who has auto paid, the link above from PayPal works.
