Double Bass Sting data?

I recently bought a CR5M, first EUB, really enjoy it. Came with a set of Sprio Solos on it, E to C, I like the tone but thought a low B would be nice. I read through most of the string threads and tried a set of NS610's, very thumpy and I think I like the tone.

I am wondering if we could start a thread about strings, what you have tried, liked, disliked, and on what bass you tried them on.
What do you think?

Mine:
NS CR5M,
Spiro Solos E to C, nice tone, but a little light on tension, good sustain, not quite as thumpy as I wanted, didnt seem to like the bow as much as I had hoped.
NS610 B to G, good tension, rather damped, good thump, mabe not as singing a tone as I would like with Pizz. Seem to bow pretty well.

Thanks,

BM

Thanks!

That's what is often the case, but the tension is much higher (20%) and you are right that the Mittel is much brighter.

BTW, on special request you can get a 3/4 Spiro Weich string directly from Thomastik which is not bad but still has 10% more tension than the downtuned 3/4 solo strings.
Works well with the 3885.0W set.
